As part of its efforts to enhance student training and promote knowledge transfer, the INRAA research station in Djelfa, specialized in agropastoral systems, recently organized an educational field trip involving two student groups from Ziane Achour University of Djelfa, enrolled in Master’s programs in Agropastoralism and Veterinary Medicine.
The field trip was supervised by the station’s team: Dr. Kanoun-Meguellati Amel, Chakali Aicha, Beira Mostfa, and coordinated by Abdellaoui Bachir. It aimed to:
- Introduce students to modern reproductive techniques in sheep, particularly the sponge protocol;
- Train them in methods for collecting data on the dynamics of pastoral and agropastoral production systems.
The activity took place in the regions of El Guedid and Ain El Ibel, where students had direct exposure to local livestock practices and interacted with experienced breeders. INRAA extends its heartfelt thanks to all the breeders who welcomed the students and shared their expertise, especially Mr. Belabiad Abdelsalam, a major operator in the Ain El Ibel district, for his valuable contribution to educating the next generation of agropastoral specialists.
Special thanks are also extended to Dr. Kadir Brahim, veterinarian, for his kind collaboration and active involvement during the field trip. His contribution greatly enriched the students’ practical learning, particularly in aspects related to animal health and reproductive techniques.
